01 · About

I spend my days on the hard middle of software: unstructured data, legacy systems, and the AI layer stitched between them, turned into things that hold up in production.

Recent work spans production LLM features (document ingestion, a retrieval-backed in-product assistant), a rewrite of the security service on the platform’s critical path, and legacy-to-modern data migrations with zero customer-facing downtime. Depth in TypeScript/Node and C#/.NET, across Azure and GCP.

Senior Software Engineer at Blackbaud

May 2022 – Present

Charleston, SC · Promoted from Software Engineer, May 2025

  • Designed and shipped the platform's AI invoice ingestion pipeline: OCR extraction, LLM interpretation of unstructured invoices, and an AI-driven matching layer that reconciles extracted fields against existing records, replacing manual AP data entry.
  • Benchmarked multiple LLMs against real customer invoice formats, driving extraction accuracy from ~40% in early prototypes to 80–90% in production.
  • Contributed to Blackbaud's in-product AI assistant, using tool calling and retrieval over product knowledge bases to answer customer questions in context.
  • Led the implementation of product's record level security, translating permissions between legacy and modern platforms on the critical path of every authenticated request.
  • Migrated core entities off legacy systems with zero customer-facing downtime; mentors engineers through internal walkthroughs and code review.
  • Promoted to Senior in three years, recognized for end-to-end feature ownership and influence on platform design decisions.

Cofounder & Lead Software Engineer at Cloud Music Suite

Remote · Music education platform

  • Cofounded and own the full stack of a music education platform, as the sole engineer across architecture, implementation, and deployment.
  • Rewrote the frontend and backend onto a modern stack (React, NestJS, TypeScript, MySQL on Google Cloud) and executed a full database migration off the original schema.

What I build for clients

Outside of full-time work, I take on select projects for small businesses and teams that need real software, not just a template.

01

Web & Software Development

Full-stack web apps and internal products, built with React/Next.js on the frontend and Node or .NET on the backend, deployed wherever makes sense for your team. From a marketing site to a full application, built to last past launch.

02

Internal Tooling

Custom internal tools and dashboards that replace manual, error-prone spreadsheets and one-off scripts with something reliable your team can actually depend on.

03

AI & LLM Pipelines

Document ingestion, retrieval-augmented assistants, and tool-calling AI features, built and evaluated the way production LLM systems need to be: benchmarked against real data, measured, and reliable.

Cloud Music Suite

A music education platform I cofounded and own end-to-end, as the sole engineer across architecture, implementation, and deployment. I rewrote the original frontend and backend onto a modern stack and executed a full database migration off the legacy schema, without disrupting existing users.
